Situation - Overview

WorkWORLD is designed so that in each file you can compare your benefit amounts, total income and net income in up to five situations (your current situation and up to four "What-Ifs?").

The first column in each file is used for your current situation. You describe that situation by answering a series of questions that WorkWORLD presents to you one at a time until your situation is complete. (See Navigating WorkWORLD for information about moving about and entering data. See the Tutorial Examples for guided lessons in using WorkWORLD.)

NOTE: SSA now offers a free Benefits Planning Query (BPQY) report that contains much of the detailed information needed to accurately answer the Current Situation questions.

The next four columns, the "What-IF?" situations, can be used to see what would happen if you used various SSI Work Incentives, SSDI (Title II) Work Incentives, Food Stamps Work Incentives, Section 8 Work Incentives, and/or you went to work or increased your earnings. (See Create a New Situation to find out more about creating "What-If? situations.)
