DE Medicaid - MAT

MAT Medicaid is Medical Assistance during Transition to Medicare. It is available to those who meet the Medicaid general eligibility requirements and who lose their Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility because they begin receiving Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and are not yet eligible for Medicare (because of the two-year waiting period).

They remain eligible for MAT Medicaid until their Medicare coverage begins.

Financial Eligibility - No Limits

There are no Income Eligibility or Resource Eligibility criteria under this covered group because all income and resources are excluded when determining financial eligibility.

Individuals who are inmates of public institutions are not eligible.

NOTE: Delaware provides this Medicaid coverage by making such individuals eligible for $5 in SSI State Supplement regardless of the amount of earned or unearned income the individual may have.
