DE Employment and Training Program Overview

The Employment and Training program is administered by the Division of Social Services (DSS). It combines the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Employment and Training (TANF E&T) program and the Food Stamp Employment and Training (FSE&T) program.

The purpose of the Employment and Training program is to help Food Stamp and/or TANF recipients to gain skills and to receive training or experience leading to regular, paid employment.

Because the rules for the TANF and Food Stamp programs are detailed in different sections of the DSS Policy Manual, we also separate the topics regarding the participation requirements, program components, sanctions and participant reimbursement.

NOTE: The rules for TANF E&T can be found in DSS Policy Manual Section 3000, and those for FSE&T can be found in Section 10000.
