It may become necessary at some point to remove a copy of the WorkWORLD program from a computer on which it was installed. A new revision or update of WorkWORLD may require you to do this, or you may simply want to free up hard disk space on a computer that no longer needs to have WorkWORLD installed.
Uninstalling is simple and straightforward. The actual uninstall procedure is controlled by your Windows operating system, using information created and programs stored by the WorkWORLD installation program when WorkWORLD was originally installed.
NOTE: When uninstalling on Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP systems, administrator privileges are required. WorkWORLD will NOT uninstall without administrator privileges.
The uninstallation procedure below shows screen captures from Windows XP. Earlier versions of Windows are similar but may appear slightly different.
1. Start Windows. If you have any application programs running, close them all before proceeding with the uninstallation.
2. Click the Windows Start button:
3. Click on Control Panel (you may need to first select Settings on earlier Windows systems):
4. From the Control Panel window which pops up, double-click Add/Remove Programs:
5. The Add or Remove Programs window will pop up. In this window, first click on the Change or Remove Programs button on the left side. The window will show a list of all the programs on your computer that may be uninstalled using this procedure. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the window to scroll through the list until you find the appropriate "WorkWORLD" entry listing. (If you have only a few programs installed on your computer, they will all be shown and the scroll bar will not appear). Click on the "WorkWORLD" item to select and highlight it, and then click on the Change/Remove button that will appear once you select WorkWORLD:
6. After you click the Change/Remove button in the window above, the WorkWORLD InstallShield Wizard Welcome window will appear. Click the Remove radio button on the left side to select the Remove option, and then click the Next> button at the bottom:
7. After you click the Next> button on the window above, a small Confirm Removal window will pop up. Click the Yes button as shown:
8. The program will be uninstalled, and the Maintenance Complete window will pop up, informing you that the Wizard has completed maintenance.
9. Close the Add/Remove Program Properties and Control Panel windows by clicking the X button in the upper right hand corner of the windows.
At this point WorkWORLD is no longer installed on your computer, and you should have returned to your Windows Desktop screen. The WorkWORLD program icons will be removed from your desktop, and WorkWORLD will no longer appear in your Programs list.
