Unemployment Insurance - Other Assistance

In addition to the standard Unemployment Insurance program, there are a number of specialized Unemployment Insurance programs:

·        Workers in declared disaster areas can receive Disaster Unemployment Assistance.

·        Workers in states with high unemployment can receive Extended Benefits.

·        Workers whose jobs were affected by foreign trade can receive Trade Readjustment Allowances.

·        Former civilians employed by the federal government can receive Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees.

·        Unemployed members of the military can receive Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Servicemembers.

·        The Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act provides unemployment compensation for workers in the railroad industry who lose their jobs.

Eligibility requirements vary among these programs and must be met to receive benefits.
