Your Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamp Program) household may be disqualified if a member of your household is currently on strike. However, if your household or the strikers meets the following conditions, then the household is eligible for SNAP:
· The household would have been eligible for SNAP on the day before the strike (the striker's pre-strike earnings are counted as current earnings), or
· The striker was exempt from work registration requirements for a reason other than current employment on the day before the strike.
Employees who were not in the bargaining unit that voted for the strike but who do not cross the picket line for fear of personal injury are not considered strikers.
If your household resides in North Dakota, read the "Strikers in North Dakota - SNAP (Food Stamps) " topic.
