This program enables children under the age of 18 who have severe disabilities to remain at home. The income and assets of their parents are not considered in the determination of eligibility. (See: MassHealth Asset Limits.)
To be eligible, children under the age of 18 must:
· Meet Title XVI disability standards (see MassHealth Disability Definition); or have been receiving SSI on August 22, 1966, and continue to meet the standards that were in effect before that date;
· Have $2,000 or less in countable assets (see MassHealth Asset Limits);
· Have a countable-income amount of $80 or less; or, if greater than $80, meet a deductible in accordance with 130 CMR 520.028; and
· Require a level of care equivalent to that provided in a hospital or nursing facility.
NOTE: The current version of WorkWORLD does not calculate the income and asset eligibility for this population. If you would like WorkWORLD to do such calculations, go to http://www.workworld.org and contact us.
