Insurance Partnership Example - Massachusetts

The total amount of the Insurance Partnership payment to the employer depends on the number of qualified employees and the tier of coverage they have. Employers receive an Insurance Partnership payment for each qualified employee.

Each month, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts pays the total amount of the employer’s Insurance Partnership payment either to the employer’s health-insurance intermediary or directly. Either way, employers pay less.

The following scenario shows a business with four employees (three employees and the owner). Two of the employees are qualified under the Insurance Partnership. The chart below shows how much the Insurance Partnership can save the employer each month.
