Delaware Helpline is a free online service that provides information on state government agencies and referrals to community resources. It provides a one-stop state government directory service with linkage to appropriate offices, legislators and state employees.

Delaware Helpline can give you information and referrals for:

·          Financial Assistance

·          Emergency Housing and Food

·          Government/Information Services

·          Utilities Assistance

·          Legal Services

·          Child Support

·          Transportation

·          Drivers License

·          Mental Health Counseling

·          Donations

·          Family Issues

·          Professional Licensing

The Helpline has Spanish-speaking staff. There is also a TDD available for people with hearing impairments.

Background

Delaware Helpline is a partnership of Delaware Health and Social Services (Division of State Service Centers), the Office of Management and Budget (Division of Government Support Services) and Delaware Helpline, Inc., a private non-profit agency.

It began operation in 1990 as a statewide comprehensive information and referral service for health and human services but broadened its scope considerably in 1997. Delaware Helpline now includes a state government information service that links callers to appropriate state offices, legislators and employees, and continues to provide needs assessment, problem resolution and referrals for callers with health or human service needs.

The Helpline today provides toll-free information and referral for persons seeking information about both public and non-profit services. Staff members from the Division of State Service Centers provide additional and/or emergency assistance to callers needing additional assistance.
