Deed Of Trust - SNAP (Food Stamps)

In the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamp Program), a deed of trust is a document executed by the owner of property by which the property is given as security for payment of a note or performance of obligation. Exclude the value of a deed of trust (or contract for deed or other property arrangement such as mortgages held by the seller) if it produces income consistent with its fair market value. If you reside in West Virginia, this exclusion does not apply.

Deeds of trust and other property arrangements are considered as personal property of the seller.

Assets that are owned jointly by separate households are considered available in their entirety to each household unless the household demonstrates that the assets are inaccessible. If the household can demonstrate that it has access to only a portion of the deed of trust, the value of that portion of the deed of trust is counted toward the household's resource level. The deed of trust is considered totally inaccessible to the household if the deed of trust cannot practically be subdivided and the household's access to the value of the deed of trust is dependent on the agreement of a joint owner who refuses to comply.
