The Long Term Care Senior Ombudsman Program (405) 521-6734 acts as advocates for persons age 60 and older residing in long-term care facilities. The staff works to resolve problems of individual residents and to bring about changes at the local, state and national levels to improve care and quality of life.
Under Oklahoma and federal law, the ombudsman has the authority to explore problems and recommend corrective action.
The eleven Area Agencies on Aging provide local supervision and support for the volunteers who serve as ombudsman. Local programs can be accessed by calling the 1-800-211-2116 Senior Info-Line.
