VA Question: Incapacitated Adult Care Cost - TANF

Enter the number of incapacitated adults who are receiving adult care services that the family pays for.

NOTE: Incapacitated Adult Care expenses can only be deducted when the adult is a member of the TANF Assistance Unit. So you should not include any care expenses for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients.

In determining countable income, up to $175 of such expenses for each child can be deducted from the earnings of a full-time worker. For a part-time worker, the limit is $120. (See VA TANF - Gross Countable Income for details about this and other deductions.)
