VA Question: Amount of Medical Expenses with Medicaid

Although Medicaid pays most medical expenses, you may have some medical expenses not covered by Medicaid. (See VA Medicaid Covered Services for a listing of covered and non-covered services.)

Enter the monthly amount of any such medical expenses.

NOTE: If you are receiving Medicaid under the Medically Needy program, and are therefore subject to a spenddown, do not include here expenses that count toward the spenddown. Rather, you should only include an estimate of expenses you have (if any) during the period when you have Medicaid coverage after you have met your spenddown requirement. That is, enter the amount (if any) of medical expenses that Medicaid does not pay for while you have Medicaid coverage.
