VA Question: Alien Sponsor Actual Income Provided - TANF

Enter the amount of income that the alien's sponsor actually provides monthly.

If the local Department of Social Services (DSS) office determines that a sponsored alien would, in the absence of the assistance provided by DSS, be unable to obtain food and shelter, then the amount of the sponsor's income that shall be deemed available to the sponsored alien shall not exceed the amount actually provided.

This "Indigence Exception" begins on the date the determination is made and ends 12 months after that date.
