Claimants who file for unemployment benefits may be directed to register for work with the Employment Service. If you are not directed to register, you still may, at any time, seek help in finding a job from the Employment Service. In addition to registering you for work, the Employment Service has several ways to help you find a job. All services provided are free of charge:
· They can refer you to job openings in your area or in other parts of the state or country, if you're willing to relocate.
· They can refer you to various training programs, including training under the JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT (JTPA).
· If openings in your field are limited, they can offer testing and counseling to determine other jobs you might like to do and are able to do.
· If you believe you have special problems, physical or otherwise, which prevent you from getting a job, they can refer you to agencies for help with those problems.
