Recommendation: Try an IRWE for SSDI (Title II)

You have disability-related work expenses that are not included in an IRWE . An IRWE could lower your countable earned income, possibly enough to allow you to continue to receive a benefit. Try including all of your disability-related work expenses in an IRWE.

"WHAT-IF?" STEPS

1.           Create a New Situation.

2.           Choose the column containing the recommendation as the column on which to base the new situation. (The new column will contain the same answers as the chosen column until you make changes.)

3.           Go to the top of the new column and enter a situation label such as "Use SSDI IRWE" if you wish.

4.           Scroll down to the Work Incentives section and answer "Yes" to the question, "Do you claim any of your disability-related work expenses as an Impairment-Related Work Expense (IRWE) to determine if your countable earnings exceed SGA?"

5.           Accept the default amount, which should be the same as the disability-related work expense amount and the recommendation in the Text Results.

6.           Check your results.
