Transitional Medical Assistance - MassHealth Standard

MassHealth Standard members who qualify for Transitional Medical Assistance (TMA) are eligible for up to 12 months of benefits after their income has gone above 133% of the federal poverty level. (See MassHealth Income Limits.)

Eligibility for Transitional Medical Assistance

The Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) will give Transitional Medical Assistance (TMA) to parents and caretaker relatives of children under age 19 and their children if the family’s income has gone up because a family member has returned to work or gotten a raise. To get TMA, the family must give DMA proof of the new income and say when the increase began.
