TAFDC - Deemed Income - Massachusetts

The income, excluding non-countable income, of the following persons who live in the same household with the family that is receiving TAFDC assistance is deemed to the filing unit when eligibility is determined and the amount of the grant is calculated:

·         stepparents living with the natural or adoptive parent of the dependent child

·         parent(s) of minor parents

·         persons who have a legal obligation of support, with the exception of the spouse of a pregnant woman

The income and assets, excluding non-countable income and non-countable assets, of the spouse of the otherwise eligible pregnant woman, and any siblings of the unborn child who live in the same household, are also deemed to the filing unit when eligibility is determined.
