To be eligible for State Supplemental Payments (SSP), individuals must meet both non-financial eligibility and financial eligibility requirements.
For purposes of the SSP program, the following definitions apply:
· "Eligible Individual" means a single aged, blind or disabled person who meets the income and resource standard for a money payment.
· "Eligible Couple" means a husband and wife who are both aged, blind or disabled and who and meet the income and resource standard for a money payment.
· Right to apply: Individuals have the right to make application for any category of assistance they choose, to expect an investigation of eligibility, and to expect a reasonably prompt decision by the Department in regard to the application.
· Assistance under only one program: Eligible individuals can have their needs included in only one State Supplemental Payment or AFDC (TANF) payment.
