Persons who are aged, blind or disabled may be eligible for Medicaid. Eligibility for these persons is determined by following the general policies of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and thus they are referred to as "SSI-Related" coverage groups.
· SSI Recipients: Receive SSI and meet additional Medicaid eligibility criteria
· People Eligible for SSI But Not Receiving SSI
· People Ineligible for SSI or Social Security Benefits such as SSDI
· People in Medical Institutions
· SSI-Related Coverage Groups that Provide Limited Benefits
· Qualified Disabled and Working Persons (QDWPs)
· Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMBs)
· Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries (SLMBs)
· Expanded Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries (ESLMBs)
· Home Health Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries (HHSLMBs)
· Medicaid for Employed People with Disabilities (MEPD)
Coverage Groups that can be either FMAP-Related or SSI-Related
· Pregnant or Postpartum Women and Newborns:
State Administered Supplemental Assistance:
· State Supplemental Assistance (SSA) Recipients and Dependent Relatives
· In-Home Health-Related Care (IHHRC) Overview
· SSI Coverage Groups that provide limited benefits.
