If you need Medicaid coverage in order to work, and you had Medicaid coverage in the month prior to earning enough so that your Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cash benefit goes to zero, then you can continue to receive MassHealth Standard coverage in accordance with the SSI work incentive called 1619b.
Be sure to notify the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) that you need continued coverage.
You will continue to be eligible under 1619b unless you become ineligible for SSI because:
· Your disability ceases; or
· Your resources exceed the SSI resource limit; or
· Your unearned income exceeds the Federal Benefit Rate (FBR) by $20 or more; or
· Your earnings exceed the State Threshold or your Individualized Threshold.
WorkWORLD will evaluate your financial eligibility based on the income of your MassHealth Family Group. If your family group has too much income to be eligible for Standard coverage, you should be eligible for CommonHealth coverage (assuming your disability has not ceased). You may have to pay a deductible and premium.
