Medicaid Program - Adoption and Medical Assistance - Oklahoma

Medical services are available when a child receiving adoption subsidy assistance moves to a state other than the one committed to make adoption subsidy assistance payments. A family receiving adoption subsidy assistance that moves to another state continues to receive the subsidy through the Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance (ICAMA).

The maintenance subsidy payments are made by the State that approved the adoption subsidy assistance. Medical payments provided through Medicaid may be paid by the approving state or residence state, depending on the Medicaid program in the residence state.

When an adoptive family receiving adoption subsidy assistance moves to Oklahoma they are referred to the Medicaid eligibility worker in the county where they reside. Referrals are made by the county adoption specialists for assistance in locating community resources and medical services.
