Housing Supports - Housing Trust Fund - South Carolina

The Housing Trust Fund is established to increase the supply of safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for low-income citizens in South Carolina. The Trust Fund enhances the housing development capacity of communities by attracting other public and private financing.

Applicants for the Trust Fund may include nonprofit and for-profit housing developers to finance new construction, rehabilitation, or the purchase of housing for renovation and occupancy by low-income persons. Trust Fund housing support activities include:

·      group homes for people with disabilities

·      home ownership

·      multifamily rental

·      owner-occupied rehabilitation

·      shelters and transitional housing facilities

·      land purchase

·      emergency home repairs

Housing Trust funds are awarded throughout the year. Proposals are funded based on local housing needs, development feasibility, and available resources.
