Florida WAGES - Work Requirement Exemptions

The following WAGES program participants are exempt from work activity requirements:

·      A minor child under age 16, or ages 16 through 18 and a full-time student in high school or its equivalent.

·      An individual who is a recipient of benefits under the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (DI) programs.

·      Adults who are not included in he calculation of cash assistance in a child-only case.

·      One custodial parent who is needed as the personal caretaker of a disabled family member.

·      One custodial parent of a child under 3 months of age, except that the parent may be required to attend classes or other activities.

·      Victims of domestic violence; however, they must participate in an alternative activity.
