FAIM - Families/Individuals NOT Covered

Cash assistance will not be provided to the following under Families Achieving Independence in Montana (FAIM):

·      Minor children absent from the home for a period of 45 consecutive days;

·      Families who do not assign certain support rights to the state;

·      Families who do not cooperate in establishing paternity or obtaining child support as required under Title IV-D;

·      Teenage parents who do not attend high school or other equivalent training program;

·      Teenage parents not living in adult-supervised settings as defined by the state;

·      Fugitive felons and probation and parole violators;

·      Individuals found to have fraudulently misrepresented residence in order to obtain assistance in two or more states; and

·      Relatives who fail to notify the state of a child's absence from the home for the period of 45 consecutive days.
