Alert - Ineligible - Income Exceeds "Very Low" Income Limit

In order to be financially eligible for the Section 8 program you are interested in, your gross non-excluded income must generally be less than or equal to the "Very Low" income limit for the location of the rental unit you found and your family size. (See Financial Eligibility for Section 8 Assistance for details.

In some Section 8 programs there are special circumstances in which you may have income in the "Low" or even the "Moderate" range and still be financially eligible. WorkWORLD asks about such special circumstances when appropriate. See Special Circumstances for details.

NOTE: If you or someone in your family were to set aside some of your family's income to help become more self-supporting and include that income in a Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS), you might be able to become eligible for Section 8 assistance.
